What this job is about

This is a fixed term role for 1 year. You will develop, prepare and review the Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans’ 2024/25 budget. You will work closely with the Director of Finance and Finance Manager. You will also work with Directors and Heads across the organisation to achieve a well understood and transparent budget. You will be the first point of contact across the organisation through the budget process.

You will also work with the Finance Director, Finance Manager and others to in the day to day running of the Finance team, you will be responsible for the completion of a number of regular functions including, financial and management reporting.

You will also be required to assist in the smooth implementation of a new financial accounting system.

What we want you to be responsible and accountable for the

Development of the process for preparing the annual budget.
Development of document guidance for managers
Documenting the budget process
Coordination and management of the budget process

Delivery of a high level and detailed budget in line with pre-determined timetable flagging any risks to delivery
Gathering and communicating historic data and assembling budget in a way that enables shift to new Business Management System and new coding structure.
Ensuring the budget process aligns to organisational business planning process.
Developing good clear communication with all involved in the budget process.
Contributing as required to the financial management of the organisation.

Contributing as required to the successful development and installation of the new Business Management System
Producing ad-hoc reports as required by the Board, Chief Executive, Director of Finance, Finance Manager, and other managers.
Working in the best interests of the organisation and the people it serves
Any other duties as required by the Director of Finance
