The vacancy
Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) and RNIB are collaborating with charities in the sight loss sector to create new opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to find employment through the Get Set Progress Internship programme. Sight Scotland is delighted to be offering an internship as part of the Get Set Progress scheme.
This role is an important part of our aim to extend the financial wellbeing service that has been so impactful at Sight Scotland Veterans. This role will work closely with our established service to widen the support we offer to individuals supported by Sight Scotland. This role will support people so they can live as independently as possible by providing tailored support around benefits, entitlements and any other relevant financial advice. This will include offering Financial Wellbeing Health Checks, support to access grants, support to apply for benefits/concessions, referral/signposting into external supports and offering information around what individuals may be entitled to.
This job will be hands on with activities such as completing benefit forms and guidance on budgeting or applying for concessions. There will be opportunities to help train clients and staff on current legislation around this subject.
